The investigation focuses on alleged irregularities in the club’s balance sheets for the years 2019, 2020 and 2021.

Did Napoli cheat in the Osimhen transfer?

According to the public prosecutor’s office, Napoli is said to have used fictitious capital gains and accounting tricks to falsify the company’s financial reports.

Specifically, it concerns the transfers of defender Kostas Manolas (from AS Roma/2019) and star striker Victor Osimhen (OSC Lille/2020). De Laurentiis and Chiavelli have always maintained their innocence.

The club reacted with incomprehension. “We are shocked and dismayed by the judge’s indictment in Rome. All expert opinions have clearly demonstrated the legality of the club’s actions with regard to both financial reporting and player transfers,” it said in the statement.

The public prosecutor’s office itself admitted in its final plea that Napoli “did not benefit from the disputed transactions”. We are therefore “calmly and confidently looking forward to the outcome of the court proceedings”.
