Anthony Davis limped out of the Mavericks home game after eight minutes. Is the leader seriously injured?
Shock for the Dallas Mavericks during their 107:105 victory against the Indiana Pacers: Anthony Davis had to leave the NBA home game due to injury after just under eight minutes. The star power forward grabbed his left shin after a layup, limped back, and immediately signaled for substitution.
During the subsequent timeout, the 2.08-meter tall big man was escorted to the locker room. At halftime, the team reported “pain in the left lower leg.” Davis was out for the remainder of the game.

A long injury history
Even before tip-off, the 32-year-old was listed as “questionable” by the league due to bilateral Achilles tendon problems. This is not his first injury since his spectacular move from Los Angeles.
Davis, who came as the main building block in the controversial Luka Doncic trade, played only nine games for Dallas in the previous regular season. Initially, he was struggling with an abdominal muscle injury, and during his debut, he suffered an adductor strain – six weeks off.
How long will Davis be out?
Head Coach Jason Kidd already had to do without three important players against Indiana. Kyrie Irving is working on his comeback without a clear timeline after an ACL tear in March. Daniel Gafford is also waiting for his season debut after spraining his ankle in the first training session. Center Dereck Lively II missed his second consecutive game due to a knee sprain.
Dallas once again faces a stress test. Davis is not only the defensive anchor but also averages 23 points, 11 rebounds, and almost three blocks. Whether and for how long he will be out will be determined by the medical examination on Thursday – until then, there’s anxiety in Texas.
