The change from Luka Doncic caused a lot of vertebrae – apparently to the surprise of Mav boss Harrison.
Nico Harrison surprised Luka Doncic’s trade with an admission to the trade. The General Manager of the Dallas Mavericks admitted to underestimated the consequences of the controversial change.
“I knew that Luka was important to the fan base,” said Harrison on Monday. “I didn’t know exactly what dimensions.”
The change from Luka Doncic caused a lot of trouble
Harrison had sent Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers with one of the most spectacular trades in NBA history. Many fans have been demanding his expulsion for months.
Mavericks believe in title
Harrison also explained that he was still standing for the decision. He was of the opinion that the expression of displeasure would not have been as extreme if the Mavs had been spared the bad luck of injury.
Dallas had received the superstar Anthony Davies in the Doncic trade, who should form a powerful team together with Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, PJ Washington and Dereck Lively. However, this formation could never play together.
“We believe that this is a team with a title caliber and we could have gained at a high level, which would have appeased some of the outrage,” said Harrison. “But unfortunately we couldn’t do that, and so it went on.”
You just have to be “healthier” to play at the top again: “We believe that we will play for the championship.”
