NBA: Schröder full of play-off course-Wagner loses

Scored 20 points: Franz Wagner

The German basketball world champions experienced a very different evening in the NBA.

The play-off comeback for Dennis Schröders Detroit Pistons is increasingly accepting more and more contours. The German basketball world champion and his team at Miami Heat won 116: 113 and further enlarged the cushion to seventh place in the Eastern Conference of the NBA. National team colleague Franz Wagner, on the other hand, had to take a setback with Orlando Magic.

A few days after the coup against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Berliner lost with the Magic against the Houston Rockets with 108: 116, the 20 points, eight rebounds and seven assists from Wagner did not help. A weak third quarter that Orlando made with twelve points was decisive in the end. The Munich Tristan da Silva came up to two points for the Florida team in 16 minutes, which stuck in eighth place in the east.

Only two places, but seven victories better stands there with Detroit. The DBB captain came off the bank against Miami as usual and put on eight points in 19 minutes, contributed three assists and won a rebound. Detroits Point Guard number one Cade Cunningham was once more top scorer in his team with 25 points. He met with a threesome in the final second.

With 39:31 victories, the pistons are still on the course for the first play-off participation since 2019. The sixth qualifies directly for the master round, the lead over the seventh-placed Atlanta Hawks (33:36) is solid. The teams in places seven to ten take part in a play-in tournament.

Led by a strong Luka Doncic (31 points), the Los Angeles Lakers celebrated their next victory. The 26-year-old Slovenian was once again the best thrower of the game at 120: 108 against the Denver Nuggets. The other superstars of both teams, LeBron James (Lakers/Thigh) and Nikola Jokic (Nuggets/Ellbogen) were again not used.

While the Oklahoma City Thunder celebrated its next Kanter victory (133: 100 against the Philadelphia 76ers) without the battered Isaiiah Hartenstein and continued to cement its top position in the west with the 57th season of the season, Cleveland had to springs again. The 119: 123 at the Sacramento Kings meant the third defeat in a row for the leader of the Eastern Conference.
