NBA: What Schröder now says about the trade madness

Franz Wagner loses again with Orlando despite a long lead. Stephen Curry shines with spectacular throws.

Dennis Schröder really arrived at the Detroit Pistons after a turbulent trade phase in February. In an interview with Sport1, the NBA star talks about his current team, something that he has never experienced in his career and seeing you again with his ex-team.

NBA star Dennis Schröder has had a truly turbulent season. Starting with the Brooklyn Nets, the 31 -year -old was traded across the country to the Golden State Warriors in the middle of the season – in the middle of the season.

Less than two months later, the world champion had to move again. In the end, he landed through detours at the Detroit Pistons, where he stands in the field of almost 20 minutes per game from the bank next, taking 9.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists.

He previously caused great vertebrae when he described the trade business as “modern slavery”. In Sport1 interview, Schröder now talks about the conditions in the NBA, the opportunities of his new team and why he may not play for Germany at the EM.

Schröder and the Pistons: “I’m now in a better team”

Sport1: The Detroit Pistons has been going really well since the trade, and there were nine victories from the first ten games. Why did it fit right away?

Dennis Schröder: The boys did a very good job to integrate me and Lindy Waters directly, the team chemistry is very good. Everyone knows their role in the team and I think that is always half the battle. And of course that we compete very hard, every game. We really try to be as physical as possible and of course that always gives us a chance to win.

Sport1: The pistons are on playoff course. What do you think is possible with this team this season?

Schröder: As much as we want. I think if we play our basketball, we can really beat a lot of teams. Nevertheless, we have to get better every day, continue to work on the team chemistry. And when the playoffs come when we have made it, we have to think and try to take every game for themselves and try to win.

Sport1: Her season started at the Brooklyn Nets, then it went surprisingly to the Golden State Warriors and from there via detours to the Detroit Pistons. Is that the most challenging season of your career?

Schröder: In the end you have 82 games in the NBA every year and always play against the best players in the world. So the challenge is everywhere. But being traded twice in one season, that didn’t happen to me in the twelve years. Now it’s like that and in the end nothing changes. I am now in a better team, in my opinion that better suits me. It’s also good for my family. Of course very cold, but everything fits now. And I am happy to finish the season here and to see what is possible.

“I’m blessed that I can be here”

Sport1: Do you take the time to process this somehow? Or free to Oliver Kahn: Next, keep going?

Dennis Schröder: Nah, keep on. This is my motto. As I said, I am really blessed that I can be here. There are 450 players who can play in the NBA. I say that every time it is really like that and everyone should see it that way. And of course I am happy to wake up every day and here in the NBA, to be in the arenas, to fly to every city.

Sport1: At the weekend it is against the Golden State Warriors. What feelings do you use to return to San Francisco?

Schröder: With no feelings. Nothing positive, nothing negative. In the end it is a business. How they tackled the matter could have been done better in my eyes. But nothing positive, nothing negative. We just want to go out there, win a game. Because the next 20 or 21 games are definitely very important now. And then correctly into the NBA playoffs.

Sport1: What could you have done better with the Warriors?

Schröder: I don’t want to edit this in detail now, otherwise it will be a big story again. In the end everything is fine, I have no negative, no positive thoughts about the Warriors. I’ll just go out there and try to give everything and win the game.

Schröder to the EM? “This is 50:50 ″

Sport1: Your contract expires, how do you deal with it?

Schröder: Just like every year. My agent will do his job, I’ll go back to Germany. We will go on vacation because we have a month or two free. And then it works when everything fits and we feel good, to the EM.

Sport1: The likelihood that you will play the European Championship, what percentage is it?

Schröder: 50 percent. I think 50:50. A few things still need to be regulated. And if everything fits, I feel good – because my Achilles tendon is a little trouble – yes, then that should actually work.
