No Bellingham, no Kane – no problem

Harry Kane is currently having what is probably his best season of all time, but the striker only managed 13th place at the Ballon d'Or. England coach Thomas Tuchel reacts with incomprehension.

Against Wales, the German national team coach’s team continues its upswing.

Despite all the criticism, Thomas Tuchel is getting England’s national football team on track more and more.

Even without the unconsidered midfield star Jude Bellingham and the injured captain Harry Kane, the German national coach celebrated a convincing 3-0 (3-0) victory with the Three Lions in the friendly against Wales. It was the sixth success in the seventh game as coach of the 1966 world champion.

After just 130 seconds, Morgan Rogers scored the early lead for the hosts at Wembley Stadium with his first international goal, Ollie Watkins increased only a little later (11th minute). Only about 20 minutes had passed when Bukayo Saka added the 3-0. In the second half, England turned down several gears, Wales came to some chances.

Tuchel causes a rare phenomenon with lineup

Tuchel, who had caused a upset by foregoing the recovered Bellingham, did not field a single player from the major clubs FC Liverpool, FC Chelsea and Manchester United in the starting lineup. This had last happened in 1992.

Captain and top scorer Kane was missing injured, the Munich player should be fit again in the qualifying match on Tuesday (8.45 pm) in Latvia. He had received a blow to the right ankle in Bayern’s 3-0 win at Eintracht Frankfurt last Saturday.

In Latvia, the Three Lions, who have won all five games in Group K so far, could perfect the World Cup qualification with a win. Wales will face Belgium in Group J on Monday (8.45 pm) and still has chances for the direct World Cup ticket.
