No crystal ball for Skicrosser Wilmsmann

Skicrosser Florian Wilmsmann was not able to use the chance of winning the overall World Cup in Idre Fjäll/Sweden. In the last race of the season, the 29-year-old became seventh on Sunday and had to make the lead with 902 points Reece Howden (Canada/1038) and Simone Deromedis (Italy/965). Wilmsmann could have won the first crystal ball for the German Ski Association (DSV).

WM bronze winner Daniela Maier, on Saturday at the first World Cup at the last stop of the ski winter, the winner became fourth and finished second overall behind the Swiss world champion Fanny Smith. For Maier it is the best result of her career so far, in 2020 and 2023 the 29-year-old had become seventh. Smith (1076 points) could no longer be intercepted by Maier (915) on Sunday.

Wilmsmann had traveled to Sweden as the overall leader, but failed at the first event in the round of 16 and had to give up place on Howden. The 26-year-old got the crystal ball through a double victory in Idre Fjäll.

Tobias Müller, who was sensational at the World Cup, became fifth on Saturday and failed in the quarter -finals on Sunday.
