No duel with Fiebich: Sabally misses Euroleague final

Nyara Sabally is eliminated with defending champion Fenerbahce Istanbul at the final tournament in Saragossa. This does not lead to German duel with national team colleague Leonie Fiebich.

The German duel about the European basketball crown fails: international Nyara Sabally missed the final of the Euroleague with Fenerbahce Istanbul. In the semi-finals in Saragossa, the defending champions against Sabally’s ex-team USK Prague collected a 71:91 (37:46) swatter on Friday.

Sabally does not meet Leonie Fiebich in the final on Sunday, who plays in the evening (8.30 p.m.) in the second game of the preload round with Valencia Basket against CBK Mersin from Turkey.

Euroleague: Sabally cannot turn off bankruptcy

Against Prague Sabally came up to a strong 17 points and four rebounds – but could not prevent the bankruptcy. Fenerbahce had actually looked into the third Euroleague title in series at the newly introduced Final Six tournament in Spain.

Sabally had won the championship title in the US Profiliga WNBA with New York Liberty last year alongside national team colleague Fiebich. At the end of 2024, Sabally and Fiebich joined the top European teams because the world’s best basketball league is currently pausing and only begins again in May.
