“Play the ball, we are not a messis”

A teammate is annoyed by Joao Félix’s way of playing and draws a comparison to Lionel Messi. The time of the Portuguese in Milan is already ending.

At AC Milan it is boiling: Kyle Walker made Joao Félix a clear announcement during the game against title candidate SSC Naples. The right-back said in the direction of Felix with alluding to the eight-time balloon d’Or winner Lionel Messi: “Play the ball, we are not a mess”.

Visibly dissatisfied with his Portuguese team -mate’s play, the Englishman asked Félix to dribble less and fit more often.

Walker took a breath after Milan was already 0: 2 behind. At the beginning of the second half, coach Sergio Conceicao changed the Portuguese striker and brought Samu Chukwueze.

So Félix no longer had a lot of time to fulfill the instructions from Walker. The Rossoneri lost 1: 2 against the second in the table of Series A.

The short chapter AC Milan

The Milan chapter will end for Félix after half a season anyway. According to the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, further employment is excluded, which is why he will return to Chelsea.

In the summer, the blues had paid 52 million euros for the 25-year-old, where he was still under contract until 2031.

The Portuguese was then loaned in February 2025 to the end of the season.

For the Italian club, the 25-year-old has so far remained in eight league games without a goal participation. In the Coppa Italia he only scored a goal.
