The FC Brentford is facing a radical change – despite a successful season.
Actually, one would think that the FC Brentford is in calm waters. The Premier League club has easily held the class in the fourth year after promotion and with tenth place even a place in the upper half of the table.
Thomas Frank is facing a departure from Brentford
Although Frank is under contract until 2027, he is said to have an exit clause of almost twelve million euros. Consequently, the key figure par excellence could leave the club shortly.
While Brentford would of course like to keep Frank, a whole series of players should look for the distance. As the club itself has confirmed according to Sun, 18 players are on the chopping block.
Schade and Janelt undisputed
Regulars and top performers are not among the 18 players. This also applies to the two German Brentford professionals Kevin Schade and Vitaly Janelt, who were convincing last season.
Whether Brentford can keep all the stars, however, is open. Bryan Mbeumo, who scored 20 Premier League goals last season, has been linked with a move to Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur. So there is the possibility that Frank and Mbeumo will move to the Spurs in a double pack.
Brentford is facing a summer with many question marks. However, blatant effects would have less the loss of the 18 players mentioned, but rather the departures of Frank and Mbeumo. Keeper Mark Flekken has already left the club in the direction of Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
