It’s clear: things are seriously boiling over at the Blues – the differences at the top are apparently unrelated to recent results. Only one of the last seven Premier League games has been won, but problems arose even before this streak.
Already at the beginning of December, Maresca had caused a stir when he publicly stated that “many people” were responsible for the “worst 48 hours” of his time at Stamford Bridge. Back then, his team was still on a good run.
The Italian’s team is currently fifth, 15 points behind the league leaders. The next game is on Sunday, when Chelsea will face Manchester City. According to Sky, it is not certain that Maresca – who led the Blues to become Club World Champions – will still be on the bench then.
