Wind makes the final competition impossible in Vikers and impossible, the Slovenin remains clearly ahead.
Nika Prevc celebrated her 20th victory in the SkiSprung World Cup on her 20th birthday and continued her dream winter in Vikersund’s Windchaos.
After a test of patience, the Slovenian world champion prevailed on Saturday in the competition that was only held in one round with a flight to 213.5 m (201.1 points) clearly ahead of her compatriot EMA Klinec (169.8 points). Selina Friday jumped exactly 200.0 m and the third (157.0) jumped onto the podium.
Because the final flies were canceled on Sunday morning due to violent wind, PrevC secured the overall victory for the RAW-Air tour for the first time and received 20,000 euros in premium. Since the tour only took place in two places this time – Trondheim was out of a World Cup scene – there was less than 40,000 euros in the previous year. Friday was fifth.
Ski jumping dominator continues
Prevc, who increased the world record to 236.0 m on Friday, celebrated her eighth World Cup victory in a row in Vikers and also won both individual competitions at the World Cup in Trondheim – her brother Domen won gold in the tyced scandal around the Norwegian overshade individual jumping from the big hill.
The second best German was a record world champion Katharina Schmid in nine on Saturday, Juliane Seyfarth came in 13th place, Agnes Reisch.
On Saturday morning, the first attempt at the competition was canceled after 21 out of 22 starters in the first round, Friday led at that time. Only Prevc was still at the top, huge winds, which had previously caused interruptions, made their jump impossible. The jury annuled the previous result and set up the competition for the afternoon. Nothing worked on Sunday.
