It says that there was even a conversation between the former colleagues, who played together at Real from 2012 to 2014, and Modric would have liked to play another year in Madrid.

In the end, however, Alonso had other plans. These reportedly include some changes to the squad.

According to the report, there were also some advocates for Modric at Madrid.

One thing is certain: Modric will be bid farewell at the last home game of the season on Saturday against Real Sociedad and will leave the Madrid team after 13 years.
