Wirtz scores first goal for Liverpool
Redemption in the 1585th competitive minute: Florian Wirtz has scored his first goal for his new club FC Liverpool. The German international footballer netted in his 23rd appearance for the Reds, making it 2-0 (42nd) against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Former Bayern professional Ryan Gravenberch (41.) had secured the 1-0 lead shortly before.
Wirtz didn’t have an easy start at Liverpool. In the previous 16 league games, he had provided two assists, and now, in his 17th Premier League appearance, he seized his opportunity after a strong setup from Hugo Ekitiké.
