Football world star Cristiano Ronaldo mourns the loss of his explorer and great sponsor. As his former Sporting Lisbon association announced on social media, the former chief scout Aurelio da Silva Pereira died at the age of 77.

From 1988 Pereira had built up its globally recognized network at Sporting, which allowed the club to find, sign and promote talent at an early stage. He led the department for more than 30 years. Under Pereira, in addition to Ronaldo, Paulo Futre or Luis Figo developed into world stars.
