After a mixed season, Lena Dürr shines with second place at the Slalom final in Sun Valley.
Skir racer Lena Dürr went to the podium again at the end of a mixed season. The 33-year-old was second in the Slalom at the World Cup final in Sun Valley/USA and only had to give up World Cup record winner Mikaela Shiffrin from the USA.
Shiffrin was in her 101st World Cup victory, the fourth in this for her because of a fall and the injury suffered so difficult, huge 1.13 seconds before Dürr. “I felt good, better than expected. My skiing is very powerful, I am very happy,” said Shiffrin.
Ljutic gets the little crystal ball
Dürr referred the Slovenin Adreja Slokar to third in third place. For Dürr it was the fourth “Stockerl” ride this winter after a second and two third places. Primer Emma Aicher missed a top 10 placement as 13th (+2.87 seconds). Aicher ended an outstanding season with two wins and a second place.
The small crystal ball, on which Dürr and Shiffrin no longer had a chance, secured Zrinka Ljutic as a second Croatian after Janica Kostelic (2000/01, 2002/03 and 2005/06). Ljutic came in tenth tenth and kept the Austrian Katharina Liensberger (5th) just behind in the World Cup discipline.
