Gianluigi Buffon’s son is substituted into the match against his father’s long-time club.
In the match between SC Pisa and Juventus Turin, the 84th minute was ticking away when Pisa’s coach Alberto Gilardino played his last joker: Louis Buffon.
The 17-year-old son of long-time Juve keeper Gianluigi Buffon was supposed to secure at least a point for the promoted team with the score at 0:1.

“Buffon is trying to score a goal against Juve,” wrote the Gazzetta dello Sport – and paused himself: “Reading it like that, it seems like a mistake. Especially since Gigi tried for almost twenty years to prevent the Bianconeri from conceding goals.”
Now Buffon junior was allowed to celebrate his fourth appearance in Serie A. The TV cameras captured his mother Alena Seredova in the stands during his substitution. She captured the special moment with her phone camera.
However, the big story with the title “Of all people” didn’t materialize. Kenan Yildiz (90.+2) decided the match in injury time with the goal for the 2-0 final score, after Pierre Kalulu (73.) had scored the opening goal.
Buffon, who had celebrated his top-flight debut in October, couldn’t make any decisive impact apart from a few ball contacts.
