
The deficit of the 20 clubs in the top league reaches a record high. A few top clubs show a surplus.
The total debt of clubs from the Italian Serie A has reached a record high. In the 2024/25 season, the debt rose to 4.86 billion euros. This comes from a report by the sports newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which is based on the clubs’ balance sheets. In the previous year, the total volume was 4.67 billion euros, and ten years ago, it was three billion euros.
The club with the highest losses is the Lombard club Como 1907 with a deficit of 105.1 million euros, followed by Italian record football champions Juventus Turin (58.1 million) and AS Roma (53.9 million). In total, 13 clubs reported losses. Against the trend, Atalanta Bergamo achieved a profit of 37.9 million euros, as did Inter Milan, which recorded a surplus of 35.4 million euros.
Nevertheless: With 3.19 billion euros in revenue, the 20 clubs generated 55 million euros more last season than in the 2023/24 season. Player salary expenses have slightly increased, now standing at 1.99 billion euros.
