Juventus Turin dismisses coach Igor Tudor. The 47-year-old had only been in office since last March.
Coach dismissed at Juventus Turin! As the Italian club announced on Monday afternoon, coach Igor Tudor has been released.
“Juventus FC announces that it has relieved Igor Tudor of his duties as head coach of the first men’s team today, along with his staff consisting of Ivan Javorcic, Tomislav Rogic, and Riccardo Ragnacci,” the club stated in a statement.
It further states: “The club thanks Igor Tudor and his entire staff for their professionalism and commitment over the past months and wishes them all the best for their future careers.”
Juventus also announced that the first team will be temporarily taken over by Massimo Brambilla. The 52-year-old will be on the bench for the match between the Old Lady and Udinese Calcio.
Tudor took over in Turin only last March. After about seven months, it’s over again for the 47-year-old. In the past eight competitive matches, Tudor did not secure a single win with Juventus and dropped to eighth place in the Italian Serie A. The last four matches even ended without a goal for Juventus.
After the 0-1 defeat on Sunday evening at Lazio Rome, Tudor was asked if he feared dismissal. “Am I at risk? I don’t care at all,” Tudor explained to DAZN . “I live in the present and don’t worry about the future at all. I am clear and aware of the problems that exist.”
