The long-time national team captain and World Cup hero turned 68.
The Cameroonian legend Emmanuel Kundé is dead. The confirmed association president Samuel Eto’o on Friday on social networks.
According to the agreed media reports, the long-time national team captain and World Cup hero died in the night from Thursday to Friday at the age of 68 in his house in a suburb of Jaunde.
The defender is a “symbolic figure of the Cameroonian football”, wrote Eto’o on Instagram: “He was a fantastic footballer, the control tower in midfield, the defensive wall where the opponent failed, but also an excellent playmaker if the team had possession of the ball.”
Kundé led the indistinct lions in 1984 and 1988 to the triumph at the Africa Cup, at the 1990 World Cup he reached the quarter -finals with Cameroon and only lost 2: 3 against England. In total, Kundé came up to 127 missions in the national dress.
