Antonio Rüdiger publicly apologized after his scandalous appearance at the Final-Clásico-but the German international should not be able to avoid FC Barcelona after the dramatic 2-3 bankruptcy in the Copa del Rey.
But how long could the Real Madrid defender be pulled out of circulation? The Spanish media refer to Article 101 of the disciplinary codes of the Spanish Football Association RFEE.

This is about “slight violence against the referees” – a lock of four to 12 games is planned for such a offense.

Rüdiger had thrown an object after the referee shortly before the end of the game and was hard to tame even afterwards. He is also said to have put bad German swear words in his mouth.
It is still unclear whether the items from the set of rules, which are often cited in Spain, are also used.
In the wording it says: “Grapches, pushing, pushing or shaking or generally other behaviors towards referees who are only slightly violent and do not represent an aggressive attitude (…) are punished with a lock of four to twelve games.” In the case of supervisors of a team, sharper punishments are possible.
The question should be whether Rüdiger’s behavior can only be classified as “slightly violent”. It can be assumed from a lock that applies to all Spanish competitions – and thus also the league. Real has to go there five times.
It is also not known whether Rüdiger must fear consequences from his club.
