Whistles against Vinicius: Mbappé criticizes Real fans

The fans are furious, the stars are under fire – Real Madrid is in turmoil. Kylian Mbappé sends a message to the Bernabéu ahead of the Champions League.

Following the latest expressions of displeasure against Vinicius Júnior, star striker Kylian Mbappé has admonished Real Madrid fans and called for reason. “Of course, it’s not Vini’s fault. It’s the entire team’s fault.” The fans, Mbappé demanded on Monday, “should not single out a player and boo him alone.”

During the lackluster 2-0 victory against UD Levante in the first home game under Álvaro Arbeloa, the supporters had unleashed their frustration. They booed their stars after the team had previously embarrassed themselves in the cup against a second-division club. Besides Jude Bellingham, Vinicius (25) in particular felt their wrath. He had also been rumored to have a difficult relationship with the dismissed Xabi Alonso.

Real Madrid: Mbappé empathizes with Vinicius

Vinicius is “a human being. It’s understandable that this affects someone,” Mbappé said about the boos: “We need to protect him better, myself included, so that he is not alone. At Real Madrid, he will never be alone. The entire club stands behind him.” It is eagerly awaited how the fans will greet Real on Tuesday (9:00 PM / DAZN) in the Champions League against AS Monaco at the Bernabéu.

Despite all the criticism, Mbappé also showed understanding for the fans’ frustration. “Before I became a footballer, I was a young man, and when I sat in the stands and was unhappy, I booed,” the Frenchman reported. He added that this was “the only way” for them to express their displeasure. However, he “didn’t like that some players were booed more than others.”
