Phil Taylor Has Announced his final retirement from darts. In a video, The Englishman Talks about the end of his career.

The end! Phil “The Power” Taylor is quitting darts. The Englishman announced this in a video on Instagram.

“Hello everyone, Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor here. I hereby officially announce that I will stop playing darts,” explained the 14-time PDC World Champion: “If anyone comes to see me: I will no longer play darts. You can meet me, talk to me, but I will no longer play darts. I just wanted to let you know so you won’t be disappointed.”

Last Professional Match in 2018

Taylor’s last professional match was the final of the 2018 World Championship, which he lost 2-7 in sets against his compatriot Rob Cross. After that, “The Power” played tournaments on the Seniors Tour and exhibition matches, but that is now over too.

Taylor doesn’t want to disappear from the public eye completely. However, his exact plans are still unclear. “As one chapter closes, another opens. This transition opens up new opportunities for me to discover things and engage in sports in different ways,” wrote the 64-year-old.

Taylor concluded by addressing his fans and thanking them for an “incredible journey that has made it possible for me to achieve more than I could have ever imagined. I am grateful for the friendships I have made and experiences I have been able to share.”
