Nun hat Laegreid die Gründe für den Schritt erklärt, den er als Wechsel „auf die dunkle Seite“ beschrieb.
„Bei Fischer gibt es ein bisschen mehr Sicherheit, weil es ein größerer Hersteller ist“ sagte er dem Sender TV2: „Ich habe im April einen Test gemacht und hatte das Gefühl, dass es vielleicht etwas besser zu meiner Technik passt.“

Laegreid betonte, dass der Wechsel nicht aus finanziellen Gründen geschah. Er habe nach einer Ausrüstung, die mehr zu seiner Technik passt, gesucht.
Zudem war dem Norweger wichtig, dass er seine Fußprobleme besser in den Griff bekommt und hofft darauf, dass Fischer eine bessere Anpassung an seine speziellen Bedürfnisse bieten kann.
„Ich habe immer mehr mit den Schuhen zu kämpfen, und ich habe Entzündungen in den Füßen“, erklärte er.
Der Rücktritt der beiden Bö-Brüder bietet Laegreid zudem eine größere Auswahl an Skiern von Fischer. Er hofft daher, dass die neue Ausrüstung ihm einen Leistungsschub für die Olympia-Saison geben wird.

Laegreid emphasized that the change was not for financial reasons. He was looking for equipment that was more suited to his technique.
In addition, it was important for the Norwegian to get his foot problems under control better and hopes that Fischer can offer a better adjustment to his special needs.
“I’m increasingly struggling with the shoes, and I have inflammation in my feet,” he explained.
The retirement of the two Bö brothers also offers Laegreid a larger selection of skis from Fischer. He therefore hopes that the new equipment will give him a performance boost for the Olympic season.
