WM-Klat in ski jumping: Wellinger asks an explosive question!

When ski jumping, the athletes live the dream of flying - especially on the very big ski jumps. Jumps are now possible to well over 200 meters. Sport1 shows the development of the world record.

The manipulation affair at the World Cup is “not good for ski jumping,” says the vice world champion.

At Olympic champion Andreas Wellinger, the manipulation scandal around Norway’s ski jumper left a “very, very thread aftertaste” after a previously gratifying World Cup in Trondheim.

“What happened yesterday is not good for our sport at all. That raises many questions, ”said the 29-year-old in a video on his social media channels.

“What would have been at the other competitions where I was very close or we were very close as a team?” Said Wellinger. On the normal ski jump, Wellinger had brought silver behind the Norwegian Marius Lindvik, who was disqualified by a manipulated suit after the large hill competition.

Wellinger brought three World Cup medals?

With the team and the mixed team, Wellinger had become fourth – Norway was also in front of him with Lindvik and the also disqualified Johann Andre Forfang. If the Norwegians have manipulated there, Wellinger would have missed a gold and two bronze medals.

“The thoughts are going home now,” said Wellinger. After a short home vacation, he travels back to Norway, where the next World Cup is coming up in Oslo on Thursday.
