The title dream lives on! After their opening victory at the World Cup of Darts against Portugal, Martin Schindler and Ricardo Pietreczko followed up with a 4-0 win against Singapore on Friday evening. This means the duo advanced to the round of 16 as group winners at the team world championship in Frankfurt.
The English duo with World Champion Luke Littler and Luke Humphries, who are competing together for the first time, are among the top favorites. Last year, Humphries won the team world championship alongside Michael Smith.
The special feature of the World Cup of Darts is that it is played in doubles. In the group stage, the mode is Best of 7 Legs.
At the beginning of the knockout stage, it continues with Best of 15 Legs, and in the final it is Best of 19 Legs.
