Yellow under sheer blue: Carl also shines as a “splash of color”

After a misfortune, the German relay heroine is clearly noticeable at the World Cup award ceremony.

All Swedes in dark blue, all Norwegians in Königsblau, all Germans in gray blue. Stop all Germans? Almost: Final runner Victoria Carl of all people was on the winner’s podium in bright yellow jacket after securing the celebrated bronze medal at the Nordic Ski World Cup in Trondheim at the Nordic Ski World Cup in Trondheim.

“My blue jacket actually broke, unfortunately,” said the 29-year-old: “That’s why I’m wearing yellow now. But such a splash of color is not bad either.”

For Carl it was the strong end of a World Cup that was not necessarily happy until then. The Thuringian will do without the 50 km race at the end of the following World Cup races. In the overall ranking, it is in second place – that would be the historically best placement of a German runner at the end of the season.
