Laura Dahlmeier has been seriously injured in an accident. The former world-class biathlete is at least seriously injured, according to her management.
Great concern for ex-biathlete Laura Dahlmeier: The Olympic champion has had a mountain accident in the Pakistani Karakoram Mountains. This was announced by her management in a statement available to ZDF.
According to the statement, she was hit by a rockfall. Rescue forces have not yet been able to reach her, the statement said.

A helicopter overflight revealed that the former winter athlete, who has been active as a mountaineer for several years, is at least seriously injured. No signs of life were detected.
“Laura Dahlmeier was traveling in alpine style with her rope partner on July 28 when she was caught in a rockfall,” ZDF quoted from the management’s statement: “The accident happened around noon local time at around 5,700 meters. The rope partner immediately made an emergency call, and the rescue operation was initiated immediately.”
Due to the remoteness of the area, a rescue helicopter was only able to reach the accident site on the morning of July 29: “An international mountain rescue team is currently coordinating the rescue. They are supported by experienced international mountaineers who are in the region.”
