Four months have passed since Federica Brignone’s serious injury, which has been difficult for the ski star. Now she is working on her comeback.
About four months ago, Federica Brignone was seriously injured at the Italian Championships, suffering several fractures in her left leg. In addition, there is damage to the lateral ligament of her left knee and a torn cruciate ligament.
Meanwhile, the ski racer is making good progress, but she suffered greatly from the situation, as she said in an interview with NeveItalia: “I’m slowly getting tired of not being able to do anything. I couldn’t enjoy the summer, that’s hard.”
Federica Brignone hopes for a quick comeback
Recently, the overall World Cup winner had arthroscopy on her left knee, as announced by the Italian Winter Sports Federation FISI. After this operation, she had “only slight discomfort,” as she revealed at the Cervino Cinemountain Festival in Breuil-Cervinia.
Ski-Star Brignone works around seven hours a day on return
Especially compared to her last operation four months ago, she is coping better with this procedure. “Now I’m fine,” she added.
After the injury, the two-time world champion worked around seven hours a day on herself and her comeback. “With such an injury, you can also be out for a year. I was able to walk again after three months,” she explained positively.
Of course, she has set the Olympic Games in February as a major goal. For this, however, she must “return soon.” Otherwise, the qualification and preparation “could be difficult.”
She is mainly supported by her brother Davide Brignone, who is also her coach. He also hopes for a quick comeback: “She gives her best, and I know she will come back as soon as possible.”
