World Grand Prix: Darts madness around Littler – Price angry

Luke Littler celebrates reaching the semi-finals of the World Grand Prix after an emotional comeback against Gerwyn Price. The annoyed Welshman then demands a change.

Luke Littler has reached the semi-finals of the World Grand Prix after an insane battle of nerves. The world champion made a spectacular comeback (3:2) against Gerwyn Price after trailing 0:2.

In the decisive fifth set, the 18-year-old then took the break with a 152 checkout and thus the victory – the cheering was correspondingly emotional.

Price missed three match darts at 2:1 in sets, but narrowly missed the double 20. Littler thus saves himself at the last second into the deciding set, which was also hard to beat in terms of drama.

Price caused a stir after the match with his Instagram story.

“Wow, that hurts. And that’s why we need to play the majors in neutral venues/countries. Luke was great at the end, but I lost that again,” wrote the Welshman, who was probably complaining about the spectators in Leicester who had loudly cheered on Littler.

Price had already given the thumbs up to the spectators on stage, obviously ironically.

Previously, Danny Noppert (3:1 in sets against Gary Anderson) and Jonny Clayton (3:0 against Dirk van Duijvenbode) had also made their semi-final tickets clear. Clayton only lost one leg.
