“It’s time for me to be back on a hill. The motivation to just go to the weight room wasn’t high anymore,” the Austrian told the Kronen-Zeitung .

The three-time World Championship silver medalist in the team and mixed team competition scored his anterior cruciate ligament and lateral meniscus in a serious fall in Innsbruck in July 2023.
Due to persistent pain, the Zillertal native had to undergo a second knee operation in January 2025.
First jumps this week
The first jumps are scheduled to take place this week on the ski jumping hill in Hinzenbach.
Aschenwald wants to start again in the Continental Cup next January. After that, the return to the World Cup should work out.
