Title defender FC Bologna has reached the quarter-finals of the Italian Football Cup. The seven-time champion prevailed in the round of the last 16 with 2:1 (1:1) against league rival Parma Calcio.

Adrian Benedyczak (13th) put the visitors in the lead. But Jon Rowe (38th) and Santiago Castro (89th) turned the tide and led Bologna to the next round as the fifth team after Juventus Turin, Atalanta Bergamo, Inter Milan and SSC Naples.

There Lazio Rome awaits, which prevailed 1:0 (0:0) against last year’s finalist AC Milan later on Wednesday evening. Mattia Zaccagni (80th) scored the golden goal. The German junior international player David Odogu was on the bench for 90 minutes for the guests.

Bologna had secured the Coppa last season for the third time after 1970 and 1974. In the final in Rome, a surprising 1-0 victory against Milan was achieved.
