DSV Athlete Misses Home Event

Philipp Horn misses pursuit and relay
For biathlete Philipp Horn, the World Cup home event in Oberhof has ended prematurely. As the German Ski Association (DSV) announced just a few hours before the men’s pursuit on Saturday in the Thuringian Forest (12:00 PM CET/ ARD and Eurosport ), the 31-year-old is “not fit to compete” due to symptoms that have persisted since Friday.
Horn would have started the pursuit race in seventh place, 39 seconds behind sprint winner Tommaso Giacomel from Italy.
Horn, who secured the first German podium of the winter with his third place in the sprint in Hochfilzen, will therefore also miss the final relay on Sunday (11:00 AM CET/ ARD and Eurosport ).
“The focus is now on a quick and complete recovery to restore full training and competitive fitness as soon as possible, especially with a view to the Olympics,” the DSV announced.
