Anamarija Lampic is experiencing a disappointing biathlon race at the World Cup in Nove Mesto. The Slovenin affects numerous shooting errors. In a series, she doesn’t even hit a shot.
What a day to forget for Anamarija Lampic! The Slovenian biathlete made a whopping ten shooting errors at the persecution race in Nove Mesto.
The second lying shooting was particularly bitter, in which Lampic missed all (!) Five shots. At the end of a disappointing race, the Slovenin landed 4:50 minutes behind the top in the 52nd place.
Anamarija Lampic made ten mistakes
The victory went to the French single world champion Julia Simon in front of the Swede Hanna Öberg (+17.2 seconds). Franziska Preuß made three mistakes in the first attack and only landed in 13th place.
The competition for Lampic, which showed her ten mistakes, was even more unfortunate than for Preuss that she still couldn’t stop all of her shooting problems.
Lampic switched from cross -country skiing to biathlon
The Slovenin had only changed from cross-country skiing to the biathlon in the 2022/23 season and initially started in the second-class IBU Cup, but took part in the biathlon World Cup in Oberhof for the first time in February 2023.
She ended her first season with a respectable 48th place in the overall World Cup.
As a result, Lampic continued to increase. Thanks to her then coach Ricco Groß, who supported her after moving to the biathlon, she was fully established in the World Cup. From her second season she only started there and scored points more and more.
Since then, their development has stagnated a little. At the sprint in Annecy, Lampic was able to celebrate her first podium with third place.
