Dennis Schröder celebrated the next victory in the NBA with the Detroit Pistons and convinced with 17 points and ten assists. The captain of the German basketball world champion stood in the starting line-up in the 133:122 against the top team Cleveland Cavaliers and, along with Tim Hardaway Jr. (32 points), was a decisive factor in the game of the pistons.
“That reminded me of the Atlanta Days today,” Schröder (31) wrote on Instagram. Already at his first stop in the NBA, he had played with Hardaway at the Atlanta Hawks.
The duo also caught the failure of the exceptional player Cade Cunningham against the leader of the Eastern Conference, who had to suspend for the third time due to a calf bruise. For him, Schröder moved into the Starting Five. In the short term, Tobias Harris also missed the game for problems at the Achilles tendon.
Nevertheless, Detroit achieved the 42nd victory of the season, so the Pistons will be able to complete a main round with more victories than defeats for the first time since 2016. As fifth in the east, Detroit is clearly on play-off course.
The Golden State Warriors also hope for direct entry into the final round. Schröder’s ex-team also won the 42nd victory, at 111: 95 at the New Orleans Pelicans, superstar Stephen Curry was back on the court. After his injury break, Curry scored 23 points as the best thrower of the game.
The Warriors are seventh in the west and are on the same place with the Los Angeles Clippers in sixth place, which entitles you to move into the play-offs directly. There are still nine games in the main round for both teams.
