The 24-year-old can hardly believe his best result of winter.
Snowboarder Christoph Lechner caused a surprise at the World Cup in Switzerland. In the Halfpipe of St. Moritz, the 24-year-old narrowly missed the podium places, but made fourth place for his best result this winter. “It’s so cool. I have never done this run like that, then with the snow. Completely cool,” he cheered.
The joy was also great for Michael Dammert. “We are so proud of Christoph. We worked on that all the season, no, not just the season, all of life,” said Snowboard Germany’s discipline manager and also concluded Lechner’s coach Johannes Höpfl: “It is really crazy about what the two of them made here.”
Superstar Chloe Kim could not be beaten in the women’s competition without German participation. The 24-year-old secured her third World Cup gold medal in the Engadine. Already in 2019 and 2021 she had triumphed in the half pipe, and the American succeeded in the Olympic Winter Games in 2018 and 2022.
