Cathy Hummels reacts emotionally to the end of her ex-husband’s career and shows himself full of appreciation.
“Every career comes to an end. I have been able to collect so many beautiful memories myself that I am very grateful for-will be a lifetime,” said the 37-year-old at RTL and added. “I also have tears in my eyes.”
On Saturday she wrote in her Instagram story: “We were almost half my life a couple. I got to know each other during the Abitur. Back then, they decided that we go to Dortmund to BVB. Live MH5, football legend, outside the football-Germany will miss you.”
“The next Hummels is in the starting blocks”
Afterwards she shared a picture of her son Ludwig (7) playing football and joked that you don’t have to worry. Because “the next Hummels is already in the starting blocks”.
Under Hummel’s farewell video she also wrote: “It was a pleasure for me to be able to accompany you in your career for so many years. You gave so many people happy with your art and anticipation.”
Cathy and Mats have been a couple since 2007 and celebrated their wedding in 2015, and the divorce followed in 2022. Since then, the common parents have been friendly. Mats, whose contract expires in Rome in summer, announced his end of his career on Friday.
