National goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen in 2016 and Pep Guardiola agreed on switching to Manchester City.

Marc-André Ter Stegen works on his comeback at FC Barcelona
“We met here in Barcelona. That was crazy: I had to pick up someone else at the airport in the morning, but Pep also came out with cap. I saw him and didn’t know where to go with me. We met in an apartment in an apartment in the evening,” said Ter Steg.
Back then, Guardiola stood as a city coach before his first season, Ter Stegen was dissatisfied with his “job sharing” with goalkeeper Claudio Bravo. He therefore considered a move to England as a “a solution to my problem”: “The plan listened very well, I could have seen myself there. Pep wanted to make everything possible, the club tried very hard.”
“Was almost angry”: curious turn around the Stegen
When he asked for a release from the then Barca coach Luis Enrique, he contradicted. “When he said that we were waiting for the preparation – after two years – I almost got angry. Then I spoke to the Presidium. They also said: ‘We will not give you away’. The exit clause was 80 million at the time.”
Ter Stegen stayed with Barca – and a curious turn followed. “Three weeks later, Claudio Bravo was at Mancity. That was strange somewhere,” he said: “In the end, the change did not take place and I am very happy about it.”
Ter Stegen has been playing for Barcelona for almost eleven years, and after a long break he is about to come just before a comeback.
