Officially! Fredi Bobic has a new job

Fredi Bobic returns to professional football. The former international hires abroad.

The former European football master Fredi Bobic returns to professional football. The 53-year-old becomes football director at Legia Warsaw. This was announced by the Polish record champions on Saturday.

In his new function, Bobic is to work closely with sports director Michal Zewlakov, who has been in office since March.

According to the club, responsibilities are “clearly separated”. Bobic is responsible for the long-term sports strategy and the development of scouting processes throughout the organization. He should also contribute his international contacts to transfers.

Warsaw plays a disappointing season and has no chance of the championship.

Bobic: “Abroad just irritates me”

Ex-international Bobic was formerly the sports director of VfB Stuttgart, from Eintracht Frankfurt and Hertha BSC. He last worked as a sports manager at Hertha until January 2023, and a legal dispute between the two sides subsequently developed around the termination.

“Abroad simply excites me. Legia has brutal fan power and an incredible infrastructure. I would like to create and work structures again,” Bobic had recently explained.
