German biathlete ends career – Franziska Preuß reacts with beautiful words

After ten years there is an end: a German biathlete resigns – top star Franziska Preuss reacts immediately.

The German biathlete Marion Wiesensarter has announced the end of her career. After more than ten years she leaves.

“After many years full of sweat, snow and emotions, it is said for me: bye competitive sports-I end my active biathlon career,” wrote Wiestarter on Instagram.

The 30-year-old was mainly used in the second-class IBU Cup during her career, but also appeared in the World Cup again and again. In the 2020/21 season, she was able to draw attention to herself with an eleventh place in the individual of Antholz.

Prussia reacts to resignation

At the German championships, Wiestarter made it onto the podium several times, got bronze and silver.

Now she turns her back to her sport – if not quite: “Of course I stay loyal to the biathlon – from now on as a fan and supporter on the edge of the route or as a driving service with one or the other mountain rim.”

Various companions spoke up under their farewell mail. Among other things, top star Franziska Preuss congratulated: “Congratulations on your career, Marion, the heart always in the right place.”
