Slot sings Klopp: “Wonderful person”

The Dutch master coach of FC Liverpool also dedicates the title to its predecessor.

In the hour of his greatest success, Arne Slot thought of his famous predecessor – and sang an anthem on Jürgen Klopp. Whether when serenaded with the Evergreen “Life is Life”, which was reproached in honor of the German, or later in front of the TV microphones: The Dutch master coach of Liverpool left no doubt about whom this triumph is largely thanks.

“Why did I do that?” Slot said about his Klopp anthem (“Jürgen Klopp, na na na na na”) and gave himself the answer: “Because of all the things he did before I was here.” After all, Klopp not only did a great job at the Reds, but also introduced his heir to the same song when he said goodbye.

“That,” said Slot full of gratitude, “has never done a trainer beforehand. It definitely helped me. But apart from that, he helped me even more to leave this team and this working morality in the team.”

He was “99.9 percent certain that a message from Klopp was waiting for him on his cell phone, added Slot in the BBC. “We had contact in so many moments of this season. He showed last season what a wonderful person he is when he introduced me.”

Liverpool had secured the title of 5-1 against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday in the premiere season of Slot on Sunday. With the 20th championship, the Reds pulled with archrival Manchester United.
