Baby happiness: Biathlon star can “hardly wait”

Stina Nilsson and Emil Nykvist are the winter sports dream couple in Sweden. In order to be able to spend more time with his loved one, Nykvist goes on his own path - and puts his sporting future into play.

After a disappointing World Cup season, biathlon star Johannes Dale-Skjevdal floats back on cloud seven. The 27-year-old becomes a father for the first time.

The past biathlon season did not go according to plan for the Norwegian Johannes Dale-Skjevdal. It is all the better that the 27-year-old has to report a happy customer privately. With his wife Kristina Skjevdal, Dale-Skjevdal is expecting a child, as he announced on his Instagram account.

“I can’t wait for chapter 2.0 in my life,” he wrote in his post and also sent a picture of his pregnant wife.

Some World Cup players also reacted directly to the post of the Norwegian biathlon star. “Congratulations to both of you,” congratulated the Swede Sebastian Samuelsson, for example. Sturla Holm Laegreid and Marte Olsbu-Roiseland also reacted to the baby happiness of their compatriot.

Dale-Skjevdal jokes: “This time I took responsibility”

In conversation with TV2 , Dale-Skjevdal opened that he was “of course very much looking forward” to become a father for the first time. The Norwegian noticed that it was time for a certain one-sided athlete life.

After the resignations of the Bö-Brüder Johannes Thingnes and Tarjei, Dale-Skjevdal would be the only father in the Norwegian team. “Since John and Tarjei are no longer in the team, I thought that there must continue to be a father in the team. This time I took responsibility,” he joked.

Hard season for Dale-Skjevdal

After a bitter World Cup winter, Dale-Skjevdal is just to treat private happiness. The high-running athlete missed the start of the season, which in Norway, given the competition, practically automatically goes hand in hand with the transfer to the IBU Cup. After five wins in six races, he returned for the World Cup in Ruhpolding and at least took eighth place. As a result, he was promised a start at the World Cup, but he was sorted out shortly before the title fights.

After all, with third place in the Sprint of Oslo he managed a conciliatory end of the season. Nevertheless, 25th place in the overall classification was a bitter disappointment after it had become overall knight in winter.

Now Dale-Skjevdal would like to secure the Olympic ticket after the World Cup.
