The Slovenian Bine Norcic, who had jumped in the Scandinavians after the suit scandal, changes the association.
Bine Norcic leaves the scandalumed Norwegian ski jumper and takes on the job as head coach of the Swiss national team. The Slovenian had become known to a broader public around the youngest World Cup in Trondheim when he initially refused to fill out the chief post with the Norwegians. Ultimately, he moved to the World Cup team for the season finale.
Norcic replaces Norwegian Rune Velta in Switzerland. The 44-year-old has been active for the Norwegians in the past three years as an assistant and team coordinator and primarily for the athletes in the Continental Cup. After the suit scandal at the World Cup, he was supposed to replace the suspended Norwegian head coach Magnus Brevig.
“I don’t want to be part of this chaos that is currently there,” he had justified his rejection. He then helped out the final jumps in Planica. Before his time in the mother country of ski jumping, the former athlete worked as a coach in the USA, Canada, Turkey and his Slovenian homeland.
