Michael Jordan returns to the NBA cosmos

The legend becomes "Special Contributor" at NBC.

Michael Jordan faces a return to the NBA business. As the world star announces, there will be a collaboration with the US broadcaster NBC.

Michael Jordan returns to the NBA cosmos. The biggest basketball player of all time will start reporting on the league. The TV station NBC has announced a collaboration with the basketball star.

It is not yet clear in which role he will play in the reporting of the US station. Officially, his position was titled as a “special participant”.

New territory for “MJ”

His new work is still new territory for Jordan. The 62-year-old takes place in the US media again and again, but there has never been a collaboration with a TV station.

As of next autumn, NBC will receive the transmission rights for the largest basketball league worldwide for the first time since 2002. The contract has a term of eleven years.

“NBC” already transferred the NBA from 1990 to 2002. During this time they also accompanied Jordan how he became a legend in basketball. Six championships and countless individual awards make it one of the best to this day – if not the best.

NBA legends for “NBC”

“I am excited to see the NBA back on NBC,” said Jordan, adding: “The NBA on NBC was a significant part of my career. I am happy to see you all again when the NBA starts in October.”

In addition to Michael Jordan, other former NBA stars are also to complement the NBC team. Jamal Crawford and Reggie Miller will act as commentators while Carmelo Anthony will take on an expert role in the studio.

In addition, the voice of the now deceased NBC spokesman Jim Fagan is supposed to play a role. With the help of artificial intelligence, this is to be used in selected intros, title sequences and trailers.
