Oliver Kahn’s involvement as a shareholder in Girondins Bordeaux is becoming increasingly concrete. According to the French regional newspaper Sud Ouest, the former CEO of FC Bayern Munich has submitted an offer for the financially troubled club.

According to the report, the offer, which has apparently been received by the relevant commercial court, is said to be in the region of ten to fifteen million euros.

Club management presents restructuring plan

It has been known for some time that Kahn wants to invest in Bordeaux. Girondins arrived in the fourth division after insolvency in the summer of 2024 and the resulting forced relegation from Ligue 2. There, the club missed promotion in its first season.

The current club management, led by owner Gérard López, will appear before the court on Tuesday afternoon to present and defend their continuation plan. If the restructuring plan is classified as serious and sensible, the club management would have until at least June 10 to work out further steps for the reconstruction or to involve investors like Kahn.
