Inter Milan’s coach flirts with offers, including those from Saudi Arabia, ahead of the Champions League final.
Inter Milan’s coach, Simone Inzaghi, is causing quite a stir in Munich ahead of the Champions League final. The 49-year-old left his future open before the game on Saturday (from 9 p.m. in the LIVETICKER) against Paris Saint-Germain and indirectly confirmed reports that Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia had offered him 50 million euros for a two-year contract. His contract with Inter runs until 2026.
“I have offers from Italy, abroad and Saudi Arabia. Now we are concentrating on Saturday. The day after, as we have always done, we will talk to the club owners with a single goal: Inter’s success,” Inzaghi said according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Inzaghi apparently demands a salary increase
It was further stated that Inzaghi wanted to set clear conditions in order to start the fifth season with the Nerazzurri. He is allegedly demanding a contract extension until 2028 and a salary increase from five to 6.5 million euros plus bonuses, as well as higher investments in new players.
“I am confident. The relationship with Inzaghi is optimal, for me the success at Inter is not over with him yet. I hope that we can continue together,” said President Giuseppe Marotta. Inter Milan has been owned by the US investment fund Oaktree for a year. They had taken over the traditional club from the Chinese company Suning.
