First Position as Head Coach with the Professionals
Tychy is only about 23 kilometers away from Piszczek’s hometown Czechowice-Dziedzice. In recent years, the club has repeatedly missed promotion, is currently in crisis and is only in 16th place. For Piszczek, it is his first station as head coach in the professional sector, before that he coached the fourth division team LKS Goczalkowice-Zdroj for 16 games. Under Nuri Sahin he was also assistant coach at BVB.
“I am proud to welcome Lukasz Piszczek as the new coach of GKS Tychy. In recent weeks, our discussions have been extremely positive and I am convinced that the commitment of Lukasz is a big step forward for our club. His football philosophy and his leadership style fit perfectly into our long-term vision for GKS,” explained board member Maximilian Kothny.
