Marco Reus seems to have taken a liking to his new life in California. According to a media report, the former offensive star of Borussia Dortmund is on the verge of extending his contract with Los Angeles Galaxy.

As Sport Bild reports, the 36-year-old, who moved to the MLS in August 2024, will prematurely extend his contract, which expires at the end of 2026, until the end of 2027 in the coming weeks.

Reus to extend contract with LA Galaxy

“We are in very good discussions with Galaxy,” Reus’ advisor Dirk Hebel told the magazine. “Marco Reus and LA – it’s simply a very good fit. Both sides want to continue and expand the successful cooperation.”

Reus won the MLS championship with Galaxy in 2024, thus winning the first championship title in his career. However, the club missed the playoffs as defending champions in the current season.

So far, the former German international has scored nine goals and twelve assists in 39 appearances. At the latest after his career, the second-best goal scorer in Dortmund history with 170 goals is said to become a brand ambassador at BVB.
