The two were each presented separately to a court and released after posting bail. Billups and Rozier are accused of various cases of illegal gambling.

Billups was released on bail after appearing before a federal court in Portland, he must appear before a federal court in New York on November 24th. Rozier appeared before a federal court in Orlando, where he had been arrested after his team’s season opener.

In addition to paying bail, both had to surrender their passports to be released. According to US Judge Robert Norway, Rozier had to put up his house in Florida as bail and is also scheduled to appear before a court in New York on December 8th.

The arrests of the two by the FBI had caused a stir on Thursday. FBI Director Kash Patel stated that Billups is being linked to illegal poker games involving the mafia. Rozier and former NBA player Damon Jones were arrested in connection with illegal sports betting.

The NBA had already promised authorities support in the investigation, stating: “We take these allegations extremely seriously. The integrity of our game continues to be our highest priority.” Both Billups and Rozier had to leave their teams immediately.
