1860 Icon Dismissed in Wolfsberg
Only one league victory was not enough for Peter Pacult. The club speaks of a “mutual separation.”
After only 31 days, Peter Pacult’s time as coach at Wolfsberger AC is already over: The Austrian first division club dismissed the 66-year-old on Wednesday.
The Carinthian club wrote of a “mutual separation” after “intensive discussions” between President Dietmar Riegler and the former national player.
Pacult had only taken over the office from Dietmar Kühbauer on October 13. In four league games during this time, there was only one win and one draw. In addition, there was a success for the defending champion in the ÖFB Cup. As fourth in the table, the ambitious WAC is currently four points behind league leader RB Salzburg.
Pacult shot 1860 into the Bundesliga
Pacult was a professional at 1860 Munich, among other things, and has been an icon in Giesing since the “Lions” were promoted to the Bundesliga in 1994. He also started his coaching career at the Sixty. The Austrian had also worked in Germany for RB Leipzig and Dynamo Dresden.
